Apple Fest – South Hero, Vermont

Apple Fest has been permanently retired.  The orchards will be offering pick your own apples on Columbus weekend.  Sorry that it is no longer a festival but you can still get great apples by picking your own.

Apple Fest – South Hero, Vermont

At apple harvest time the apple growers of Lake Champlain Islands invite everyone to come and enjoy the bountiful harvest, the wonderful craft shows, antiques, flea market and all of the wonderful things that apples can be used for.  Sip the wonderful cider, get sticky on your face with a fabulous caramel apple, try a cider donut or fresh pressed or hot mulled cider.  The celebration is held each year over Columbus Day and Canadian Thanksgiving Weekend.

Local citizens began the celebration and now it has grown to a full grown fun celebration.  There are programs including fun for kids, music, crafts, and a flea market and of course the wonderful apples and all they can be made into!

The celebration is held on South Street which is closed to traffic.  Admission and parking are both free so that everyone can enjoy the festivities.  There are even pony rides for the kids along with a petty paddock and an antique tractor display.  On Sunday, there will be an Apple Pancake Breakfast at St. Rose of Lima from 7 – 10:30.  It will be a great time in Vermont so make your plans to be there.

  6. We have been coming to Applefest in South Hero every year for over 15 years and are so sad it is gone. It is something we look forward to all year. Please consider bringing it back, we hate for you to loose the tourist income and we miss it – especially after last year’s cancellation!
BTW, We come up from Virginia.
